NEW MATERIAL:Cephem based antibiotic substances TAN-547A, B, C or salts thereof having the following properties; Ultraviolet absorption spectra λmaxH2O=260+2nm. Circular dichroic spectrum showing the Cotton effect of (-) at 228±2nm and (+) at 260±2nm. Molecular formulas; C26H41N9O11S, C29 H46N10O12S and C32H51N11O13S.
USE: An antimicrobial agent against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria including microorganisms producing β-lactamases.
PREPARATION: A microorganism, e.g. Lysobacter lactamgenus YK-90 strain (FERM BP-575, IFO 14288), belonging to the genus Lysobacter is cultivated at 10W30°C and 4W8pH for 24W144hr preferably by the aerated spinner culture method.
