Abstract:
To obtain the subject composition, excellent in stability at the time of molding and processing and further excellent in persistence of antifogging effects even especially at a high humidity by using a specific polyglycerol ester of a fatty acid.
This antifogging composition comprises a polyglycerol ester of a fatty acid having ≥6 average polymerization degree of the polyglycerol and ≥10 hydrophile-lipophile balance(HLB). For example, a hexaglycerol caprylate is cited as the ester, which is preferably obtained by carrying out the esterifying reaction of an optional fatty acid, especially myristic acid with the polyglycerol by adding a catalyst such as caustic soda thereto under heating.
