Abstract:

To provide an antifogging glass article which has excellent performance with respect to hydrophoilicity retention properties after stopping UV irradiation of the article and the hydrophilicity of which can be improved by very weak UV irradiation and also which has good antifogging performance retainable over a long period.

This glass article is formed by successively laminating an alkali barrier film, a photocatalyst film and an overcoat film on the surface of a glass substrate in this order and has recessed and projecting parts formed in the surface, wherein the photocatalyst film contains titanium oxide of ≥30 wt.% and an iron compound (desirably iron oxide) of 0.001-10 wt.% expressed in terms of Fe.
