Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition useful for ships, marine structures, etc., comprising a vinyl resin containing an alkylphenoxysilyl group at the end of a side chain as a vehicle.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition comprises a vinyl resin containing at least one alkylphenoxysilyl group of formula I (R1 is 6-12C alkyl) at the end of a side chain [preferably a polymer comprising a polymerizable monomer containing an alkylphenoxysilyl of formula II (R2 is H or methyl; R3 is COOR4 or p-phenylene; R4 is ether, thioether, ester or 1-20C alkylene; X is alkyl, alkoxy, phenyl, phenoxy, 6-12C alkyl-substituted phenoxy or OSiX3 with the proviso that at least one of Xs is the above substituted phenoxy)] as a vehicle.
