PURPOSE: To titled material for ships, etc, preventing a wide range of antifouling organisms from attaching algae to attaching animals from attaching themselves to coated materials, containing a specific polyalkylene oxide unsaturated carboxylic acid ester resin and an antifouling active component in a specific ratio.
CONSTITUTION: The aimed material containing (A) 10W95 (based on solid content) polyalkylene oxide unsaturated carboxylic acid ester resin consisting of a copolymer of (i) 5W75wt% monomer [e.g., compound obtained by adding ethylene oxide, etc., to (methy)acrylic acid or itaconic acid] shown by the formula [R1 is H, CH3 or CH2COO(CmH2mO)nR2; R2 is H or 1W28C hydrocarbon; CmH2mO is oxyalkylene; m is 2W4; n is 1W200], (ii) 3W55wt% polymerizable unsaturated carboxylic acid or its salt and (iii) 15W80wt% hydrophobic polymerizable unsaturated monomer and (B) 5W85wt% naphto[2,3-d]thiazol-4,9- dione.
