To obtain an antifungal agent having antifungal activity and useful for various areas, e.g. foods, medicines, construction materials, paints, agriculture and horticulture, and feeds for stock and fish breeding by using insect-derived peptide with a specific amino acid sequence as the active component.

This antifungal agent contains, as the active component, moricin as insect-derived peptide, composed of the amino acid sequence shown by the formula, or peptide or the like composed of the amino acid sequence shown by the formula wherein one or more amino acids are added, missing or substituted, and having antifungal activity. It can be directly used, or formed into tablet, powder, water dispersible powder, emulsifier or capsule shape after it is mixed with, e.g. solid carrier, liquid carrier or emulsifying dispersant which is normally used. It is useful for various areas, e.g. foods, medicines, construction materials, paints, agriculture and horticulture, and feeds for stock and fish breeding.
