Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antimicrobial activity-imparting agent capable of providing a fiber, etc., which exhibits an antimicrobial activity against microbes such as plant-derived bacteria and bacteria, and is excellent in the durability of antibacterial activity by compounding a specific (meth)acrylic acid derivative (polymer) as an active component.
SOLUTION: This agent is composed of a (meth)acrylic acid derivative such as trifluoroethyl acrylate of the formula {R is H or CH3; X is (CH2)aOb [(a)=0-4 (b)=0, 1]; Y is (CF2)Z [(C)=1-10; z is H or F], tetrahydrofurfuryl, phenyl, isobornyl, norbornyl, tricyclo [5,2,1,02.6]decanyl or decenyl} and/or its polymer as an active component. Further, it is preferable that a fiber such as silk fiber or wool fiber is treated with a solution or a dispersion of a (meth)acrylic acid derivative (polymer) expressed by the formula for adding it, so that an antibacterial fiber is produced.
