Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject preparation exhibiting bacteriostatic effect on a wide range of microorganisms in acidic drinks including carbonated drinks, fruit juices, coffee drinks, black tea drinks, sports drinks, nourishing drinks, mineral water and flavorous water, also suppressing sucrose fatty acid ester crystallization in such acidic drinks, resulting no impairing of the appearance of such drinks.
SOLUTION: This antimicrobial agent preparation which is stable in acidic drinks comprises 0.1-40 wt.% of a sucrose fatty acid ester, 0.1-40 wt.% of a polyglycerol fatty acid ester, 5-70 wt.% of propylene glycol, and 10-80 wt.% of glycerol; alternatively, comprises 0.1-40 wt.% of a sucrose fatty acid ester, 0.1-40 wt.% of a polyglycerol fatty acid ester, 5-70 wt.% of propylene glycol, 10-80 wt.% of glycerol, 0-80 wt.% of ethyl alcohol, and 0-80 wt.% of water.
