The antimicrobial composition for coating use essentially comprises a coating resin and/or a coating solvent and one or more kinds of water-based extract of plant(s) selected from the following: Myrtaceae eucalyptus plant branches/leaves, Zingiberaceae kaempferia plant rhizome, Laminaceae isodon eriocalyx (Dunn)Kuds terrestrial whole plant, Laminaceae Labiatae soutellaria baicalensis Georg. plant rhizome, Usneaceae usnea longissima Ach. whole plant, Anacardiaceae pistacia plant bark and/or branches/leaves, Compositae taikinngiku whole plant.
