NEW MATERIAL:A 2-(4-substituted amino-3-oxo-2-isoxazolidinyl)-5-oxo-2- tetrahyrofurancarboxylic acid derivative expressed by formula I (R1 is amino or organic residue through N; R2 is carboxyl or a group derivable therefrom; R3WR8 are H, organic residue or R5 or R6 and R7 or R8 together form chemical bond or cyclic group; X is H, methoxy or formylamino, provided that R5WR8 are not H at the same time).
EXAMPLE: 4-Nitrobenzyl 2-[(4S,5R)-4-benzyloxycarbonylamino-5-methyl-3-oxo-2- isoxazolidinyl]-5-oxo-2-tetrahydrofurancarboxylate.
USE: A remedy for microbism and antimicrobial agent.
PREPARATION: A compound expressed by formula II (R1' is R1 other than amino) is reacted with a compound expressed by formula III (R2' is R2 other than carboxyl) and the resultant product is then subjected to converting reaction of the groups R1' and R2' to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
