PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antimicrobial and mildewproof resin composition, comprising either of a silver-based antimicrobial agent or a borate glass in a mixture of a thermoplastic resin with wood flour, excellent in antimicrobial and mildewproof properties and appearance of a molding surface and useful in the vehicular field, etc.
SOLUTION: This antimicrobial and mildewproof resin composition comprises (C) 0.1-10 pts.wt. at least one selected from a silver-based antimicrobial agent and a borate glass based on 100 pts.wt. total amount of (A) 20-99wt.% thermoplastic resin and (B) 80-1wt.% wood flour. Furthermore, the component (A) is preferably a styrene-based resin comprising at least one selected from (co) polymers prepared by (co)polymerizing an aromatic vinyl compound or the aromatic vinyl compound with other vinyl monomers copolymerizable with the aromatic vinyl compound in the presence or absence of a rubber-like polymer and (E) at least one pulverized material selected from bamboo grass, a bamboo and a sheath of the bamboo is preferably contained as the component (B).
