Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a porcelain and an enameled products capable of continuously exhibiting antimicrobial effects.
CONSTITUTION: This antimicrobial porcelain or enameled product is obtained by adding an antimicrobial agent of the formula M1aAbM22(PO4)3.nH2O (M1 is at least one metal selected from antimicrobial metals such as silver, copper, etc.; A is at least one selected from an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, ammonium and hydrogen; M2 is a tetravalent metal; n is a number satisfying 0≤n≤6; a and b are each a number satisfying la+mb=1 with the proviso that l is valence of M1 and m is valence of A) to a surface layer.
