Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition capable of effectively controlling a wide range of phytopathogens (e.g. fungi, bacteria, nematode) through decomposing both the cells and cell membranes of phytopathogens by bacteriolytic peptide(s) and hydrolase(s). CONSTITUTION: This antipathogenic composition comprises at least one kind of cell membrane-degradative component and at least one kind of hydrolase, and, according as desired, an agriculturally permissible support. The second objective transgenic plant is capable of producing the above bacteriolytic peptide(s) and hydrolase(s). The third objective method for controlling phytopathogens uses this composition and the above transgenic plant.
