Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an antiskid device for mounting on automobile tires which is adaptable to rapidly changing weather conditions for a long time when the weather condition change is expected on a running course as well as for protection when the usual maintenance fails.

CONSTITUTION: An antiskid device for mounting on automobile tires is designed to have the form of a segmented plastic envelope 1.0. The envelope is composed of tread segments provided with inserted metal spikes 2.1, ribs 2.2 and recesses. Each tread segment 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 comprises perforated lugs 1.7, 1.7', 1.8, 1.8' accompanied by appropriate binding elements 1.5, 1.5' for interconnection of the tread segments to each other and into an endless form thereof, and for mounting the envelope on a tire.
