To obtain a raised cloth for car mats excellent in antistatic properties by tufting pile yarns on an antistatic base cloth prepared by using an electroconductive yarn and a non-conductive yarn including fusible fibers.
An electroconductive fiber made of a pitch carbon fiber having a crimp of ≥5 peaks/2.54 cm, an average fiber length of ≥25mm, preferably ≥30mm and an aspect ratio of ≥2500, preferably ≥3,600 in an amount of 5-30wt.% is mixed with 70-95wt.% of a sheath-core type thermally fusible conjugated fiber, and an antistatic fabric with a tear-strength of ≥5kg, tensile strength of ≥15kg/5cm and ≤30% elongation is produced by the card web technique. This antistatic fabric is used as a base cloth to effect tufting thereby producing the objective raised fabric.
