PURPOSE: The titled yarn having improved durability of antistatic properties, obtained by copolymerizing polyester with a small amount of an alkali metal sulfonate group-containing compound, adding a small amount of a specific metal compound to the copolymer to give a composition, spinning it.
CONSTITUTION: Polyester is copolymerized with (A) 0.5W3mol% based on total acid component of an alkali metal sulfonate group-containing compound (e.g., 5-sodium sulfoisophthalic acid, etc.), and blended with (B) (15W40)×10-4mol one or more of metal compounds (e.g., acetate, etc.) of Mg, Mn, and Zn based on 1mol acid component of polyester, and, if necessary, (C) preferably 1W10wt% polyalkylene glycol to give a composition, which is spun by a conventional procedure, to give the desired yarn.
EFFECT: Having improved workability in spinning, drawing, etc.
