Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a thermoplastic resin composition having good, persistent antistatic properties by mixing a thermoplastic resin with a small amount of a (co)polymer composed essentially of a specified anionic monomer unit. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin is mixed with 0.1-40 pts.wt. polymer consisting of 20-100wt.% anionic monomer units of formula I [wherein R1 is H or CH3; A is a group of formula II (wherein (n) is 0 to 2), formula III (wherein B may be bound through an ester linkage and is alkyl, aryl or aralkyl), formula IV (wherein R4 is H or alkyl) or formula V; R2 to R5 are each (substituted) alkyl, aryl or aralkyl] and 80-0wt.% vinyl or vinylidene monomer units copolymerizable therewith, thus giving the subject composition. This composition has good, persistent antistatic properties without deterioration of physical properties, such as resinousness and strength, inherent in the base polymer; therefore, it can be used in the field of, e.g. electronic application where high reliability is required.
