Abstract:

To obtain an antitumor agent breaking self-protection system to oxidation stress, etc. which tumor has, suppressing proliferation of tumor and bringing about advantageous conditions to host side by inhibiting hemoxygenase of tumor part.

This antitumor agent has inhibiting action of hemoxygenase derived from an organism. Furthermore, tumor component of the inhibiting action is preferably a metal protoporphine and e.g. especially zinc protoporphine is preferably used and the zinc protoporphine is soluble in 5-10% dimethylsulfoxide solution or weakly alkaline solution and is capable of forming ribosome and dissolving into lipid microsphere and the solution of zinc protoporphine can be administered to artery and vein and when the metal protoporphine is used as polylactic acid microsphere solution, the solution can be administered to artery and oral administration may be carried out in the form of a composition containing low toxic amount.
