To provide an antiviral substance effective for inactivating viruses, a fiber product carrying an antiviral substance and a fiber structure.
The antiviral substance is a polymer comprising a copolymer component of a styrene or an α-olefin and (meth)acrylic acid in the polymer chain. The polymer carries an ion of metal selected from copper, silver, zinc and nickel and is effective for avian influenza viruses. The antiviral fiber obtained by spinning or carrying the polymer of the antiviral substance is effectively inactivating viruses. The antiviral fiber product comprising the antiviral fiber at least partially is formed into, for example, clothing, bedding, curtain, wallpaper, carpet, mat, sheet, filter, mask, wiper, towel, protective clothing, protective net, waste chicken bag, poultry house article or sheet for medical use, and used.
