Abstract:
PURPOSE: To form easily a high antiwear property and corrosion proof coating film sprayed onto a piston ring groove by a linear explosion fusion spray method.
CONSTITUTION: A wire rod 4 for fusion spray is disposed in a piston ring groove 2 and large electric current is sent instantaneously to said wire rod to explode it while fused grains of said rod collide with the surface of groove 2 to form a coating film 3. Thus, said coating film with high antiwear property and corrosion proof can be easily formed in the ring groove 2.
