Abstract:

To provide an antimicrobial peptide causing no decline in antimicrobial activity even if adsorbed to anionic matter or the like such as a cationic antimicrobial peptide, and to provide antimicrobial agents, sterilizers and preservatives each using the antimicrobial peptide.

The antimicrobial peptide is provided based on the findings that the drone pupae of Apis mellifera having been treasured from old times as a crude drug having various physiological activities contain an antimicrobially active ingredient, which is a peptide free of any basic amino acid( sample 2 contains Pro, Glx, Gly, Ala and Thr, and sample 3 contains Ile, Leu and Tyr ).
