Abstract:
PURPOSE: To adjust the accommodation volume of a carrier at any position on a conveyor carrying a workpiece carrier and make the adjustment directly within the line.
CONSTITUTION: Push rods 17, 17a reciprocate linearly in the direction 8 which meets the carrying direction at a right angle on a line and they have two guide plates each 9, 11; 9a, 11a. The plates are parallel to each other and the distance between them is longer than the width of a side wall of a workpiece carrier, which loosely supports a bottom plate. A position adjusting means is extended in the direction of the push rods 17, 17a so as to make a translational motion. On position adjusting rods 27, 27a, which are extended at a right angle to the push rods 17, 17a and the carrying direction of the line, there are supporting forks 25, 25a which pick up the bottom plate and move it to a different level. A guiding means 26 for the supporting forks 25, 25a adjusts the relationship with the position adjusting means for the side wall of the workpiece carrier.
