PURPOSE: To prevent rice bran from adhering on surfaces inside a machine and to separate the bran from polished rice perfectly by leading the bran, which is produced in a cylindrical rice-polishing equipment during a rice-polishing, to a separation equipment while blowing away the bran with a turbulent air flow generated in an outer casing.
CONSTITUTION: Unpolished rice charged in a hopper 1 flows into a rice-polishing chamber 5 and has the bran adhering to its surface removed in contact with a brush 8 which is revolved by a polishing rod 3. The rice is moved horizontally while being polished by a rotation of the polishing rod 3 and a suction force of a suction equipment 9, and allowed to flow into a rice vessel 26 through a pressure control valve 12 of a rice discharge port 13. On the other hand, the bran produced during the rice-polishing is led through an air discharge port 14 to a separation equipment 18 equipped with a cyclone body 19, whereby it is separated from air, by the air sucked in by the suction equipment 9 through an air inlet port 16. Meanwhile, the bran adhering to an inner wall of the outer casing 11 and an outer wall of the rice-polishing equipment 2 is blown away, as the air generates collisions and turbulent flows in the outer casing 11.
