This apparatus is provided with a means 3 for supplying the molten metal 1 having the solid-liquid coexisting range into a cylinder 2, a temp. control means 4 arranged at the outer periphery of the cylinder 2 for cooling or heating the molten metal 1 supplied into the cylinder 2 in the temp. range of the semi-molten temp. or lower temp. by heating or cooling the outer peripheral wall of the cylinder 2 to adjust the cylinder temp., a stirring and transferring means 5 arranged in the cylinder 2 for continuously stirring and transferring the semi-molten metal in the cylinder 2, and a detecting means 6 arranged at the outlet part 2b of the cylinder 2 for detecting molten state of the semi-molten metal stirred and transferred to the outlet part 2b of the cylinder 2.
