Title:
APPARATUS FOR EVACUATING SEGMENTED TIRE MOLD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3881390
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize easy designing and efficient usage, by evacuating a tire mold cavity when closing a tire mold so as to eliminate the gas in the space.
SOLUTION: An upper sidewall mold assembly 12 is composed of two members: an upper sidewall mold plate 52 and an O ring 36. Therefore, the upper sidewall mold plate 52 in combination with the O ring 36 makes an important air barrier when a tire mold cavity 18 is evacuated. Each of the upper and lower sidewall mold assemblies 12 and 14, as well as tread mold segments 16 constitutes, in combination, a tire mold cavity 18 in a tire mold 10. The tread mold segments 16 can move toward the radially internal or radially external side along an inclined slide 22, corresponding to the vertical movement of a conical actuating ring 20. The actuating ring 20 can move approximately in the axial direction of the tire in the tire mold 10, i.e., in the vertical direction.
