PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for evaluating the biodegradation degree of a chemical substance, capable of obtaining the biodegradation even of an organic chemical substance containing an element except carbon and obtaining a more accurate biodegradation degree.
SOLUTION: This apparatus for evaluating the biodegradation degree of a chemical substance is equipped with a biodegradation part 1 for formulating a chemical substance with a microorganism and culturing the microorganism by using the chemical substance as a nutrition source, with a generated gas measuring part 2 for recognizing and measuring gases, generated by the biodegradation of the chemical substance in the culture process of the microorganism in the biodegradation part 1, by gas components and with an ion measuring part 3 for recognizing and measuring ions, formed by the biodegradation of them chemical substance in the culture process of the microorganism in the biodegradation part 1, by ion components. Gases and ions generated by the microorganism in the proliferation process by using the chemical substance As the nutrition source are measured, the biodegradation degree is evaluated based on the amount of gases generated and the amount of ions formed and gases and ions corresponding to elements constituting a chemical substance are measured to enable the measurement of the biodegradation of an organic chemical solution containing elements except carbon.
