PURPOSE: To make it possible to measure the level continuously with regard to an apparatus for measuring the level of powder and granular material in a container storing the powder and granular material.
CONSTITUTION: A detecting tip 6 is embedded in the bottom part of powder and granular material 4 in a hopper 3, and the capacitance is measured with the detecting tip 6. A density signal 8 is obtained based on the measured value in reference to the predetermined relationship between the capacitance and the density with a density meter 7. A density-level converter 9 converts the density 8 into the level in reference to the relationship 10 between the density and the level and outputs a level signal 11. The signal 11 is displayed on an output display part 17. Therefore, there is no movable part, and the level of the powder and granular material 4 in the hopper 3 can be continuously measured.
