To provide an apparatus and a method of cleaning drainage, which catch two kinds of solid impurities different in nature in the drainage with a bonding member, and at the same time, discharge the caught solid impurities from the bonding member to clean.

The apparatus of cleaning drainage includes a pump 70, a first bonding member 10 and a second bonding member 20 to which a first impurity and a second impurity adhere, a first catching tank 30 and a second catching tank 40 into which the first bonding member and the second bonding member are inserted, a first cleaning tank and a second cleaning tank in which the first impurity and the second impurity are discharged, and moving means 72 and 73 which move the first bonding member and the second bonding member to the first cleaning tank and the second cleaning tank. The method of cleaning drainage includes the step of bonding magnetic impurities to a magnetic rod and thereafter, bonding nonmagnetic impurities to a mesh filter, of moving the magnetic rod and the mesh filter to the first cleaning tank and the second cleaning tank, and of discharging by air after piling up the magnetic impurities by a sliding contact with a scraper in the first cleaning tank and discharging by air the nonmagnetic impurities in the second cleaning tank.
