To provide an apparatus for dividing a rolled material which can help improve the material yield.

The apparatus to divide the rolled material comprises a flying shear 1, a cooling bed 3, a run-out table 5, a first shearing line 7, a second shearing line 9 and a managing computer 11. The first shearing line is equipped with a measuring device for remaining length 15 and a cold shear 17. The managing computer 11 is comprised of a arithmetic unit 21, a control unit 23 and a memory unit 25. The rolled material through a rolling line 13 is divided by the flying shear 1. The operation of the flying shear 1 is controlled by the control unit 23, based on a preset value stored in the memory unit 25. After dividing, the actual length of the divided material cooled on the cooling bed 3 is measured by the measuring device for remaining length 15. Then the difference between the actual value and a target value is calculated by the arithmetic unit 21. This set value is corrected by subtracting a correction value decided based on the difference.
