Abstract:

To improve the productivity of a flat paper cutter, a packaging machine, etc. by providing an apparatus and method which can stably carry out the marking on the side surface of the paper sheet running at a high speed by improving a method for supplying ink to a disk for carrying out the marking through being brought into contact with the side surface of the paper sheet.

A series of processes for carrying out the marking on the side surface P1 of the running paper sheet P with the ink 10 are divided into a process for transferring the ink on the marking disk 1 and a process for transferring the ink from the disk 1 on the side surface P1 of the paper sheet. An ink applying roll 2a and an ink transferring roll 2b are used as the media for transferring the ink 10 to the marking disk 1 instead of a conventional felt member and pad.
