To provide an apparatus able to accurately measure the width of a carbonization chamber for a long period of time.
The apparatus 100 for accurately measuring the width of a carbonization chamber comprises a measuring unit 10 inserted between sidewalls of the carbonization chamber in measuring the width of the carbonization chamber, a support unit 20 having a shape able to engage with a coal charging hole installed on the top of the carbonization chamber, and a connection unit 30 connecting the measuring unit 10 and the support unit 20. The measuring unit 10 comprises an enclosure 11 installed with a cooling means 15, at least a pair of rod-like or cylindrical contact elements 12 the top end of which are able to move inward and outward through a through hole 111 installed to the enclosure 11, and a displacement measuring means 13 installed in the enclosure 11 and measuring the displacement of contact elements 12. The elements 12 in each pair are mutually and inversely movable on almost parallel lines.
