Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a ionic conversion means of making possible to reduce a stimulus or a thermal burn caused in a patient's skin tissue by composing of that the ionic conversion means, which removes harmful ion and reduces the stimulus or the injury of a skin tissue by removing the harmful ion generated by a bio-electrode in the patient's skin region, is installed. CONSTITUTION: A ion conversion substance 18 is disposed in the interior of an inside space 14 between a metallic electrode 16 and a patient's skin tissue. In order to treat an iontophoresis, a bio-electrode 10 contains an iontophoretic compounds and also a dosing agent 20 to be extruded from the bio-electrode 10 into the skin tissue. The dosing agent 20 may use an optional substance, which is appropriate to receive the iontophoretic compound and to extrude together with the dosing agent 20, such as a fibrous pad or a gel. Accordingly, those harmful ion electrolytically generated adjacent to a metallic electrode 16 is converted to another ion which is comparatively not so harmful and this another ion is sent into the ion conversion substance 18 so that the harmful ion is effectively removed from the solution.
