Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for processing a video identification signal for detecting, recording and reproducing of the signal.
SOLUTION: The method for processing video identification signal comprises a step of detecting the start position of the signal from an input video signal, compressing video data starting from the identification signal at prescribed units of compression and recording the start position of the detected signal in a prescribed recording area, and a step of detecting the start position of the identification signal recorded in a prescribed recording area in the previous step and decoding the video signal inserted with the identification signal to the start position. The identification signal is recorded in a time-lapse video recording/reproducing system, the identification signal is observed to be the same as that video signal, which is compressed and decoded. Thus, compatibility with the switching section of the system sold in the market at present can be maintained.
