To provide an image processing apparatus that can provide an output of a copy with high image quality even when an N-UP function is adopted for network copying.
In the N-UP function, a correction section 13 applies correction processing to an image read by an image input section 11, an edit section 14 applies magnification processing or the like to the corrected image and arranges the number N of the images to compose one composite image when storing the images to a storage section 15. In transmitting the composite image, a control section 16 attaches the attribute of the images set by a U/I 17 to the images and an I/O 18 transmits the resulting images to an external device. Thus, a receiver side references optimum processing to the composite image by referencing the attribute attached to the image. Thus, the N-UP function can be realized for the network copying with the high image quality same as that of the direct copying.
