To solve such problems that, when a mode of image quality is changed by a user, a high quality mode is selected for image data of characters or line drawings wherein the appearance is not changed by image quality, or image recording has to be performed again with another quality setting resulting from an operation error due to a human error or forgetting of setting-change.
The image recorder includes both a value for a usual proper temperature range (a first temperature range) where density irregularity does not occur in a solid image and a value for a temperature range (a second temperature range) where a range between an upper limit temperature and a lower limit temperature is wider than in the first temperature range and density irregularity of a certain degree occurs, and performs setting-change between the first temperature range and the second temperature range according to a measured ink temperature and a solid recording amount of a solid image below a specified value.
