To provide a method and apparatus for vacuum packaging capable of preventing defective sealings arising from difference of pressures between the inside of a pressure container and the inside of an inner packaging bag and rumples occurring to the packaging bag at the time of releasing to the atmosphere can be prevented.
For a vacuum packaging method wherewith an opening part of a packaging bag 3 having contents therein is arranged at a sealing device 4 at the inside of a pressure container 2 and the opening part of the packaging bag is sealed up with air inside the packaging bag exhausted by decreasing the pressure in the pressure bag, the state of idling is interposed in a process of depressurizing the inside of the pressure container up to a specified degree of vacuum so that the deaeration process applied therefor is temporarily stopped, and a slow releasing is made through a slow leakage route at the initial stage of releasing to the atmosphere.
