To provide an apparatus for molding an optical element, in which a molding die can be adjusted easily and whether or not the molding die is adjusted suitably can be judged quickly though the plurality of optical elements can be molded at a time.
The relative positions of a first die holding member 12 and a second die holding member (an x direction stage 24) are adjusted by using a rotary stage 22, a y direction moving stage 23 placed on the rotary stage 22 and the x direction stage 24 placed on the y direction moving stage 23. As a result, when axes of individual dies are aligned about a plurality of molding dies, the plurality of molding dies can be adjusted so as to be within an adjustable range and consequently the adjustment can be performed efficiently.
