To provide an apparatus for preventing books from being browsed which effectively prevents the books from being browsed and an appendix from falling off, is conveniently mounted, and has no possibility of spoiling commodity values of the books displayed.

The apparatus for preventing the books from being browsed is characterized in that banding straps 11 having cross-shaped straps 12 are used, cross-shaped intersecting part 13 of the banding straps 11 is arranged on the back face 3 of the book 1, one strap 12a of the cross-shape is wound and banded on a page part 16 more inside than a cover from the top 4 and the ground 5 of the book 1, and the other strap 12b of the cross-shape is wound and banded on the cover 2 from the directions of the back 6 and the header 7 of the book 1. As both the top and ground direction and the header of the book are closed, it is possible to completely prevent the book from being browsed and the appendix from falling off. As on the top and ground direction on the cover side of the book, the page part more inside than the cover is wound and parts hiding the content of description of the cover is a little, there exists no possibility of spoiling the commodity values of the books displayed.
