PURPOSE: To obtain a metallic product formed with a good quality metallic billet by arranging a shearing device and removing the surface layer part having large possibility of containing impurity, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The almost cylindrical shaped billet B in the halfsolidified condition is supplied into a charging part 9a. Therefore, a hydraulic cylinder 12 is extension-driven to shift a plunger 14 downward. The billet 13 is interposed in a gap between a first shearing edge 6a formed in the opening part 6 of a pressing mold 7 and a second shearing edge 14a formed at the peripheral edge of tip part of the plunger 14 to receive the shearing action. In this case, as the billet B is in the half-solidified condition, the center part of the diameter D side can be punched out with the diameter (d) size by the comparatively small shearing force to the thickness size of the billet B. The material at the center part of the billet B is charged into the pressing chamber 6 positioned below the charging part 9a, and the material M in the pressing chamber 6 is pressurized with the plunger 14 and filled into a cavity through a material supplying hole 8. By this method, it is prevented to fill the surface layer part of the billet having large possiblity of containing the impurity into the cavity.
