In the producing apparatus for reduced iron which produces the reduced iron by drying an aggregate obtained by granulating mixed powder of iron oxide powder and reducing agent in a drying chamber 3 and reducing the preheated aggregate in high temperature atmosphere of a reducing furnace 11 after preheating the dried aggregate in a preheating chamber 5, the above preheating chamber 5 preheats the dried aggregate by convecting the exhaust gas from the reducing furnace 11.
