Abstract:
The device includes a rotatable tube (38) disposed inside a tensioning pipe (3, 5). A sock produced by a circular knitting machine is fed into the space between the tube (38) and pipe (3, 5) and is tensioned by a suction within that space. Once the sock is complete a strong suction is applied to the interior of tube (38) by a high head, limited flow rate exhauster (30). The suction causes a just completed edge of the sock to enter the upper end of tube (38) and be inverted and transported therealong.
