The ash collected from the combustion exhaust gas of a soda recovery boiler by an electric precipitator is mixed with water to be slurried and a potassium salt in the collected ash is removed. In this case, first and second stirring tanks being slurry tanks are cooled by a jacket cooling system employing water cooling jackets 11a, 19a using cooling water and the slurry contact surfaces of the slurry tanks are coated with a corrosion-resistant material low in the coefficient of friction to prevent the adhesion of scale, and temp. necessary for potassium salt removing operation is obtained.
