PURPOSE: To improve a stacking apparatus so that coins can be stacked correctly, irrespective of the change in coin sizes.

CONSTITUTION: This stacking apparatus vertically stacks coins or similar disk- like objects which are sequentially supplied one at one. A plane of a guide rail 104 is shifted sideward from a stacking plane. A coin support 102 faces in the direction of the axial line of a drive wheel of a carrier means and protrudes beyond its width. The coin support, the carrier means and support structures of these elements are not movable, while they are fixed irrespective of sizes of the coins to be stacked and not mechanically coupled with a stacking space 106. The coin support is inserted from a side into the stacking space, so that the center of the stacking space lies on the center line of a coin supply part. The stacking space is defined by a movable side member, wherein the shape of the side member can be applied to the cross-sectional face of the objects to be stacked.
