To simplify the structure of an apparatus for supplying molten metal, vertically moving the molten metal surface by moving up and down a float immersed in the molten metal and to improve the accuracy of supplied quantity of molten metal in the apparatus.
The float 11 dipped in the molten metal 16 stored in a holding furnace 10, a ascended/descended with a float driving device 13 to adjust the height of the surface of the molten metal. In the float, a float inner hollow part 12 is formed and a prescribed quantity of the molten metal is supplied into a molten metal supplying part 17 through a transporting tube 14 by supplying a controlled pressure gas into the float inner hollow part from a gas supplying device 21 under the controlled state that the surface of the molten metal becomes fixed surface L0 of the molten metal with the float through a controller 20. The gas supplying device is preferably a cylinder for supplying/exhausting inert gas into/from the inner hollow part of the float by being controlled with the controller.
