Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable the direction of a cutting instrument in a tissue to be changed without allowing the instrument to rotate by providing a flexible area in a bending area for transmitting a power subjected to the proximal end of a surgical instrument through the bending area operating a surgical tool and equipping a first part so as to be rotatable relative to a second part. CONSTITUTION: This surgical instrument has a hard outer tube 212 with a surgical device coaxially arranged therein, is equipped with a surgical tool 211 at the distal end, and comprises a partially flexible middle tube 216 and a rotatable inner tube 214 coaxially arranged therein. The outer tube 212 bends through a flexible area 218 arranged slightly near to the distal end 220. The inner tube 214 and the middle tube 216 respectively has a flexible area 226 and 228 which are slotted for accepting bending caused by the bending area 218.
