Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the peak in power consumption over the whole system by controlling a print start time and a print termination time in an image forming apparatus belonging to an image forming system.
SOLUTION: An image of an original document is read by a scanner. The read image data is stored on a hard disc. The image data input from the scanner, or the image data stored on the image data, are input to a plotter to form the image on a sheet of paper. A composite apparatus for carrying out communication of data for controlling the image data and image forming operation via a communication I/F comprises its own image forming apparatus and the other image forming apparatus connected to the communication I/F, which are included in a image forming apparatus group. A means for controlling image forming operation of each image forming apparatus belonging to the group is provided such that start timing of each image formation is different from that of another to decrease the peak in power consumption.
