To provide an apparatus for tapping molten metal with which the structure is simple, the safety is high and the tapping speed is rapid.
In the apparatus 10 for tapping the molten metal which taps the molten metal 2 stored in a holding furnace 1; this apparatus is provided with a cylindrical body 11 forming a sucking hole 11a at the lower end part and arranged in the holding furnace 1 so as to dip a sucking hole 11a into the molten metal 2; a feeding tube 12 connected with the upper part of the cylindrical body 11 at the one end part and extending to the outside of the holding furnace 1 at the other end part and for tapping the molten metal 2 from a discharging hole 12a formed at the other end part; and a shaft 13 with an impeller, inserted into the cylindrical body 11 so as to be rotatable of the impeller 13b arranged to the shaft 13a in the inner part of the cylindrical body 11. The upper directional vortex B is developed in the inner part of the cylindrical body 11 by rotating the shaft 13 with the impeller and the molten metal 2 from the sucking hole 11a is pulled up to the upper part of the cylindrical body 2 and also, the pulled-up molten metal 2 is made to flow into the feeding tube 12, and the molten metal is tapped from the discharging hole 12a.
