To provide an apparatus for treating stumps in a corn field, so designed that, in operating a corn harvester under continuous travel while accompanying a chopping-type roll bailer joined with a lapping machine, corn stumps left planted on the farm surface to release lap rolls thereon are treated in a fallen and crushed state prior to releasing the lap rolls so that the lap rolls are not damaged by the corn stumps.

The apparatus for treating stumps in a corn field has the following construction: A kicker guiding lap rolls is joined in a shaft-attached manner vertically turnably to the rear end of a rear frame assembled and supportedly suspended on the lapping machine body joined to the rear of a roll bailer machine body, and the bottom side of the kicker is fitted with a crushing member to be butted on corn stumps on the farm surface when the kicker descends by the descending operation of the rear frame.
