To provide an apparatus for treatment in an electrostatic field having an electrostatic atmosphere capable of remarkably improving far infrared radia tion effects, photocatalyst effects and ultrasonic effects and useful for preserving foods, etc. by applying a far infrared radiator photocatalyst, etc. to the appara tus for treatment in the electrostatic field.

This apparatus 1 for treatment in an electrostatic field is obtained by applying at least one of a far infrared radiator photocatalyst (e.g. titanium oxide) and ultrasonic waves in combination in the apparatus 1 equipped with a unit to be treated such as a vegetable chamber 10 installed in an electrically insulated state and designed to treat the unit to be treated through an electrode to which a high voltage is applied with a device 8 for generating the high voltage in the electrostatic field. Either one of the far infrared radiation and a photocatalyst film is preferably formed on inner wall surfaces 3 and 7 of a refrigerator.
