Abstract:
A medical treatment device for resection of tissue in a live organism utilises ultrasonic vibrations for the purpose. It comprises an ultrasonic resection unit (1) which contains an ultrasonic vibration generator (4) and a probe (26) which is connected to the ultrasonic vibration generator (4) for transmission of the vibrations generated by the ultrasonic vibration generator (4). The probe (26) has a distal end-section for transmission of the vibrations to the tissue. The device furthermore comprises a haemostatic device (37) with a haemostatic member (37A) located in the vicinity of the distal end-section of the probe (26). The haemostatic device (37) quickly stops any bleeding that occurs during resection.
